My Position at Norwich Union in Norwich

I was here 1996 - 1998

This was a contract position, my contract was renewed four times.

I was using VB 4 & 5, SQL-Server, Oracle, SMS, NT and Exchange.

My main project was the customisation of SMS (Microsoft Systems Management Server) to collect user data, audit workstations and distribute applications.

To support this function, I wrote some programs to enable the mass loading of data into the helpdesk system, extracting data from a range of other systems (Oracle, SQL-Server, Access, Excel, Exchange and Mainframe databases).

To help the client prepare for the Millennium, I wrote a Year-2000 automated scanning system for source code.

While I was there, I also wrote a complete archiving system for E-mail (Exchange) supporting over 15,000 users.

I also supported the engineers in developing unattended builds for NT 4.0 Servers.
