My Position at Perot Systems in ChelmsfordI was here 1995 - 1996 This was a contract position, my contract was renewed five times. Perot had been brought in to manage the project for the client (M&G). When I arrived on the project, Perot had been on the site for two months and not produced anything. > Within a week I had written a Change-Of-Address system that used Quick Address to speed the entry of valid addresses and then posted changes across seven mainframe legacy systems, immediately saving the client over £250,000/year.My main project was a workflow system for a company dealing in PEPs, ISAs, Pensions and Life Insurance. I was using VB 3 & 4, SQL, Oracle, PL/SQL, PVCS, Unix, Tuxedo, Netwise. The role involved developing and testing the workflow system to manage financial systems in a three-tier client-server architecture using VB to front-end an Oracle database via Tuxedo and Netwise. Interfacing to stored procedures / packages in PL/SQL and PRO-C. Responsible for specification of test scripts. Developed a suite of automated testing tools for both load-testing of database connections and regression testing of complex GUI interfaces. I was also responsible for version control, builds and rollouts using PVCS so I developed a range of utilities for checking and improving the integrity of the builds. |
